Lisa Harris, CPA | Fractional CFO
Most fractional CFOs hand you a report. I hand you a financial operating system — built and running.
For growing businesses that have outgrown their bookkeeping.
Sound Familiar?
Many growing businesses reach a point where the numbers exist, but the systems behind them don’t.
- Your business is past $3M in revenue but your financial operations haven’t kept up
- You’re making decisions based on gut feel because the numbers aren’t reliable enough to trust
- Monthly close takes too long — if it happens at all
- Someone’s tracking critical data in a spreadsheet that only one person understands
- You’ve outgrown your bookkeeper but don’t need (or want) a full-time CFO
- You’re turning down opportunities or slowing growth because you don’t have the financial data to make the next big move
- You want someone who will actually fix the problem — not just identify it and hand you a report
Real Situations I Walk Into
Logging & Transportation Company — Payroll and Loan Tracking
A logging and transportation company was tracking hauler loans, truck purchases, and repair charges in Excel — none of it in the accounting system. Major repairs owed by haulers were recorded as company expenses, and loan refinances stacked interest on top of interest. Payroll required entering data into one legacy system, then re-entering it again in QuickBooks. Credit card deductions were communicated by phone once a week.
I built a custom operations application that automates hauler payroll, allocates repair charges correctly to loan accounts, maintains amortization schedules, and posts transactions directly to QuickBooks.
The office manager now saves roughly five hours per week, and the owner finally sees the true income and expenses of the business — not surprises at year-end.
Ecommerce Business — IRS Compliance and Financial Rebuild
When I came in, there were unresolved IRS letters, payroll taxes that hadn’t been paid for an entire year — missed by the previous accountant — and sales tax that had never been collected despite clear nexus obligations. The balance sheet had negative amounts that made no sense. The financials were unreliable across the board.
I cleared the IRS penalties, negotiated removals where possible, rebuilt the financial reporting from scratch, and got the business compliant on sales tax.
The owner now receives accurate monthly financials by the 10th of each month, vendors are paid on time, and the business operates with numbers she can actually trust — instead of reacting to problems after the fact.
I Sit In Both Chairs
Most fractional CFOs can analyze your numbers. Most tech consultants can build you a dashboard. I do both — and that’s the difference between advice that sits in a drawer and systems that actually run your back office.
CPA + 30 Years
Controller, CFO, and firm owner. I understand financial systems from daily transactions to strategic decisions.
I Build, Not Just Advise
Dashboards, automated workflows, reporting systems, and custom applications that replace manual workarounds. Built on platforms like QuickBooks Online, Xero, Retool, Supabase, and n8n.
Systems That Stay Fixed
I build the process, train your team, and stay on as your fractional CFO so the systems keep working as your business grows.
